Gaj̼hij Se (/gaj̼/ /hij/ [hero; idol] [violent]) is a subtropical Town located in Rocklea Dutchy, Fidhi̊si Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Gaj̼hij Se is derived from the Tauric language, as Gaj̼hij Se was founded by Dawn Trêyê Hub̄qug Nuldztrÿkle Shankland, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Gaj̼hij Se has a yearly average temperature of 24°C (75°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 21°C (69°F). Gaj̼hij Se receives an average of 135 cm/y (53 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Overview

Gaj̼hij Se was founded durring the late 17th century in early summer of the year 1592, by Dawn Trêyê Hub̄qug Nuldztrÿkle Shankland. The establishment of Gaj̼hij Se was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Gaj̼hij Se's construction back out of the project. Dawn Trêyê Hub̄qug Nuldztrÿkle Shankland pushed on reguardles, and Gaj̼hij Se was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Gaj̼hij Se was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 17th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Gaj̼hij Se is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Gaj̼hij Se is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of crampt baked earthen streets which form octogonal paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town posesses a fortified albit thin wall of querried stone. This wall posesses most of the features of a castle wall, though it is constructed from cheeper inferior stone. It would pose a minor chalange for an attacking army, though it's clear the wall's true purpose is to crush the hopes of bandits and marauders. The failry decent fortifications have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

The first thing you notice about Gaj̼hij Se is the large sign at the entrance welcoming you to their humble town. Children come up to you and say hi, some asking if you’ve fought any big monsters, and others just zipping away after their hello. The adults are much the same. By the time you’ve made it a significant way into the town you’ve been invited to a tavern for a pint to drink in exchange for news of the world. You’ve also had no less than three older women give you a sweetroll and direct your attention to their still unmarried children. It would be creepy if it wasn't so sincere.

Civic Infrastructure

Gaj̼hij Se has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Gaj̼hij Se has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Gaj̼hij Se has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Gaj̼hij Se's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Gaj̼hij Se has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Gaj̼hij Se has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Gaj̼hij Se's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by vertical proportions, pointed arches, external buttressing, and asymmetry in the general shape of its buildings. The decorative features of the style were key, consisting of large arched windows, pointed arches, vaulted ceilings, flying buttresses, and sculptures integrated into the structure itself. Occasionally, for very important buildings, an array of sculptures or one colossal sculpture might replace the entirety of the entrance to said building.

In Gaj̼hij Se sometimes, near one of the seasonal solstices, the sun appears to split into three and it rains from a clear sky for several hours.

The Cloud Dragon, Wyrmling near Gaj̼hij Se are known to be quite timid.

Gaj̼hij Se's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves consuming a local narcotic to channel Invocation energies of tier 2 via oath swearing.

History

Gaj̼hij Se used to be much richer, but something happened in the last (17647 % 6)+1 years to crush its source of prosperity. Different factions of the community might be trying to grasp at the remaining dregs of wealth, others might try to restart the failed industry, and some might look for a new livelihood. Any group or entity thought responsible for the collapse is likely to be treated very harshly, and some locals might find profit in shifting the blame to their enemies.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century Lake Mudhole began to boil, and released a thick toxic cloud from beneath its waters which devastated , killing every person and animal in its path which could not escape the cloud. Oddly, the plants of the region flourished in the years after the disaster. An estimated people, livestock, and buildings were lost to the disaster. The disaster is referred to as the Heartache Wind.
